45 Page Pamphlet that started life several years ago when Ken Willson-Wheeler researched the names of the Fallen on Upper Beeding, Bramber and Small Dole War Memorials. His finding were printed in booklets which were made avaliavble to members of Beeding and Bramber Local History Society, Steyning Museum and local schools.

Since then, Ken has also researched the Fallen from Edburton and Fulking, whose names are inscribed in a Roll of Honour in Edburton Church. Pat Nightingale researched the lives of many of the survivors and what wartime life was like in our villages. Finally, their findings were brought together in a book, 'The Peope of Beeding and Brmber in the Great War'.

Pat and Ken then turned ther attention to the Second World War. There are fewer records avaliable to resarchers, as the Ministory of Defence is yet to release the military histories of those who joined any of the services. However it is fortunate that Beeding and Bramber Local Hisotry Society holds in its archives written records of the memories of several villagers who were children during the war. This booklet draws on those records and many others, such as schol logbooks, to provid a vivid picture of like in wartime Beeding. Bramber, Small Dole and Edburton.
